Common Admission Test (CAT)

 

CAT 2022 will be held by the IIM's (Indian Institute of Management). Exam will be scheduled once a year. Many business schools accept CAT scores for admission to MBA, PGDM, and other programmes. Students who want to apply to IIMs will often prepare for the CAT tests. The Common Entrance Examination (CEE) for India's 20 IIMs and more than 1,200 business schools is the Standardized Aptitude Test (CAT). The CAT exam is given regularly by IIMs. The CAT exam was administered at IIM Bangalore in 2022. Every year, more than two lakh candidates take the CAT exam. As per the reports 2 lakh 30000 students have filled the application form for CAT 2022. The exam was offered to around 1 Lakh 90 000 applicants. Students will receive notice of the CAT in the final week of July, and registration will start in the first week of August 03, 2022. The registration period ends on September 21 and the admit card download starts on October 27. The exam will take place on November 27 during the final week of November. More than 2,000 additional MBA institutions in India accept the exam for admission to their PGP, MBA, and PGDM programmes. The CAT 2022 is a test that assesses a candidate's capacity for logical and analytical thought as well as their ability for math and general knowledge.. Anyone who has earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any field is qualified to appear for the CAT 2022 exam. In India, it is the most well-attended entrance examination for management programmes. The exam is administered on a single paper over the course of several shifts on a single day. Management institutes shortlist candidates for their GD/PI/WAT rounds using the CAT 2022 score. Every year, more than two lakh students register for the two-hour, computer-based CAT exam.

CAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria:

 

• The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) 
• Candidates who have completed the requirements for a degree and are awaiting results may also apply, as may those who are in the last year of a bachelor's degree programme or an equivalent qualification.
• According to the eligibility requirements, there is no upper age limit for the CAT admission exam. According to the current requirements, an applicant must hold a bachelor's degree with at least three years of college coursework. 

 

 

Reservation Policy of CAT 2022-

 

As per the requirement, 15% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, 27% for Other Backward candidates, up to 10% for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates and 5% for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD).

The CAT 2022 Application Form will be available beginning August 03 and will remain open until September 21, 2022. The complete application procedure will take place at www.iimb.ac.in in an online format.

• For the Common Admission Test online portal, IIMs send a Special CAT registration ID and password.
• You must select management programmes in all 20 IIMs listed on the registration form while applying online.

 

 

How to Apply for the CAT 2022

 

 There are some  steps to registering for the exam. :

• Step 1: Register - Go to the official CAT website and Registered under the New Candidate, Enter your name, DOB, Email ID, Mobile No and Nationality. Click on 'Generate OTP' tab.
• On successful registration, an OTP will be sent on the registered mobile number  
• Verify CAT registration by entering the OTP in the given field 
• Step 2: Complete the CAT Application Form - Include your personal information, phone numbers, academic information, work experience, and choice for the programme, as well as a preference for the location of the exam.
• Step 3: Scan and Upload Documents – Scan and upload your documents in accordance with the CAT 2022 Photo Size, Dimension, Format and Other Information (Photo, Signatures & Needed Certified)
• Step 4: Paying the Application Fee - Candidates can pay the CAT 2022 Application Fee online using net banking, credit card, or debit card. The category wise application fee for CAT 2022 is listed below:

Exam Pattern for CAT 2022

 

Exam Type: Computer-based test

Total number of questions: 66 (48 MCQ+18 TITA)

Exam Syllabus  : Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability, and Reading Comprehension, and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning are the number of sections (there are three subsections).

Exam time: Two Hours (120 Minutes) 

Total MCQ's Questions: 48 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with negative marking

Total Non-MCQ's Questions (questions with no negative marking): 18

Marking Scheme: +3 points for correct answers; -1 point for incorrect answers 

 

 

CAT 2022 Syllabus

 

There is no CAT syllabus offered by the IIMs. On the other hand, a list of topics that come up frequently has been created using data from last year's exam papers.

Quantitative Aptitude- Number System, Geometry, Algebra, Mensuration, Time and Work

Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation- Seating Arrangement, Blood Relation, Syllogism, Tables, Graphs, Data Caselets

Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension- Para-jumbles & para-summary, sentence completion, inferences, RC passages based questions

Admit Card CAT 2022

 

CAT 2022 admit cards will be available to download at www.iimb.ac.in on 27 October 2022 for all students who have successfully registered for the entrance exam. Admit Card Download begin at 05:00 PM.

• The Address of the CAT Exam Center
• Time and date of the examination

 

 

CAT 2022 Admit Card Requires Identification Documents

 

Along with their CAT 2022 admit card, candidates must bring one of the following photo ID proofs:

 

• Voter identification card PAN (Personal Identification Number) card

• Aadhaar card,

How to Get the IIM CAT Admit Card 2022

 

• Visit the official website of CAT 2022 is www.iimb.ac.in

• Under the heading Login, click the Login button. Download the current year's CAT admit card.

• To access your CAT admit card, enter your CAT login credentials (CAT User ID and Password) and click the login button.

• After you have provided all of your information, the admit card will display on the screen.

• You can now get your CAT EXAM Hall Ticket.

• Make a duplicate of the admission card for future use.

 

CAT 2022 Result

 

The CAT 2022 results will declared soon. Candidates can now download their official CAT 2022 scorecards by logging onto the CAT 2022 website (www.iimcat.ac.in). 

CAT 2022 was successfully conducted on November 27, 2022, at 438 test centres spread across 156 cities in India.
Around 1.92 lakh candidates appeared for the exam out of 2.30 lakh registered eligible candidates. The overall attendance was approximately 83 percent.

Out of the total number of candidates, 35 percent were females, 65 percent were males and 2 candidates represented transgender.

 The candidate's name, rank, registration, picture, sectional score, overall score, sectional percentile, and overall percentile will all appear on the CAT 2022 scorecard.

 

 

Answer Key for CAT 2022
