MD - Doctor of Medicine
MD Medicine is a two-year postgraduate course. It is also called MD in General Medicine. This is one of the strengths under the medical stream that teaches and prepares future doctors. MD or Doctor of Medicine is a postgraduate specialised course that can be pursued after completing MBBS. It enables the pursuer to obtain in-depth knowledge and hands-on training on a change of subjects including Anatomy, Radiotherapy, General Medicine, etc. It helps in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning of diseases. This course studies the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of certain diseases.
The degree is aimed at those candidates who are interested in gaining an in-depth knowledge of the field they have chosen. Students will be researching and conducting experiments and developing different medicinal solutions and other treatment processes for certain diseases.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Qualification : 10+2 secondary or higher secondary exam with a minimum of 55% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects.
- The cap of repetitions for appearing in the exams has been removed by CBSE and also being appreciated by NEET.
- MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) from a reputed college or institution.
- MBBS is a 5½ years course and includes a one-year internship period as well.
- The person is eligible to go for MD in his chosen field.
- The entrance test for Doctorate of Medicine admission is held by the State Government or a University or any other authorized examining body.
- The minimum marks : 50% for General category candidates and 40% for the candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.
Admission Process:
All candidates first are required to sit for a NEET-PG examination.As per the NEET-PG selection process, the applicants will be offered admissions to MD courses through the NEET-PG Counselling Process. Students will be asked to select the course and the college at which they would wish to pursue the course. Depending on the merit list for NEET PG and the vacancies available in the respective course and college, the candidates will be allotted colleges and courses.
